The English Speaking and Conversation exams

The English exams Speaking (presentation), and Conversation (formal) will take place during the English lessons in block 2.2. Both exams will be planned in one lesson. This will take about 20 minutes per student. You will also receive an official exam invitation from the exam bureau via email. You will have time to prepare your exams and receive feedback during the regular lessons in block 2.1 and 2.2.

Presentation

Your presentation must be at least 4 minutes and no longer than 6 minutes.The subject of your presentation is your internship.It is mandatory to support your presentation with slides (PowerPoint, Keynote, Prezi). Your exam will be assessed on A2 level, but in the lessons, you will receive feedback on A2/B1/B2 level.

Conversation

After your presentation you will have a formal conversation with your teacher. It will be a formal client conversation. You will receive an exam booklet two weeks prior to your exam with which you can prepare your exam. Your exam will be assessed on A2 level, but in the lessons, you will receive feedback on A2/B1/B2 level.

Assessment

You will be assessed on:

• Coherence Conjunctions, pronouns, structure
• Vocabulary Vocabulary, Articles Prepositions
• Grammar Word order, verbs/tenses
• Fluency Speech rate, utterances
• Pronuncation Intonation
• Interaction Keeping conversation going, using language

Preparation

Make sure you are well prepared for your exams. That means:

• You are present fifteen minutes in advance of your exam.
• You know how to connect your laptop to the smart screens so you can show your presentation slides.
